Rahasya, meaning mystery, is nature’s secret place in Kodagu. This enchanting farmstay nestled in the lush hills of Kodagu brings nature, history, and personal stories together. Owned by Geetika Basapa, the 4th generation of Coorg’s iconic coffee planters, Rahasya is more than just a homestay; it’s a piece of her family’s legacy. Her great-grand aunt, Sakamma, was a pioneering figure in India’s coffee industry and an advisor to the Maharaja of Mysore. This was in an era when women were not allowed to work, but Sakamma broke the glass ceiling to make her coffee plantation and business a roaring success. Her indomitable spirit of adventure and independence lives on in Geetika, who has returned to Coorg to continue her family’s story.
Geetika’s paternal grandfather served in the colonial army and saw action during WWII. Her maternal grandfather was awarded the Param Vishisht Seva Medal for his illustrious military career and was achieved during the Chinese aggression. Rahasya is a set on 25 acres of lush coffee plantations. It offers guests a rustic yet luxurious escape from the modern world. The charming cottage is built around one of the original rooms of the property, the Bulbul Room, preserving the heritage while adding modern touches. Geetika is a passionate naturalist and certified scuba diving instructor. She invites guests to reconnect with nature. With no TV or Wi-Fi, Rahasya encourages guests to unplug, relax, and immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of the valley. The family dogs would be more than happy to accompany you during your sojourn, especially in summer, when visitors can soak in the nearby gurgling stream. At Rahasya, guests come as visitors and leave as family. This farmstay is more than just a getaway; it’s a place where memories are made.
